Sunday Round-Up for January 9, 2011
It's that time again! There were plenty of great posts out in the blogosphere this last week. I had a tough time narrowing down which ones to include into today's Round-up. I hope everyone enjoys these as much as I did.
In "1000 Hours to a Slimmer, More Financially Fit You," Fabulously Broke lays out the keys to success, and speculates that one can create a good habit within 1000 hours. Check it out and see if you agree.
Aloysa shared her "Confessions Of a Bad Tipper" this week, and not only was the post quite amusing, but so were the subsequent comments!
In "How to Use the Power of Groups," Money Cactus did an excellent job of expressing why you should learn to play well in the sandbox. Make sure you pair this post up with Fabulously Broke's habit post from above.
Speaking of playing well with others, no where is that more apparent than the day-in and day-out of workplace. Checkout the little xtranormal animation Retireby40 posted in "Overheard in the Breakroom." That had me rolling with fits of giggles (of course, I giggle at just about anything, so take that for what it's worth.)
Before you head off to make your own animation to share with all of us, check out Wealth Pilgrim's great post on "Term Life Insurance vs Whole Life Insurance -- In Plain English." Who says your finances stop playing when your heart does?
Under one of the greatest financial blog post titles ever, "How to be a Deadbeat" (something we all strive for, I'm sure), Money Cone explores whether financial freedom is really worth the hype.
If you're a DIY'er like me, then you'll also probably enjoy Money Reason's post on "Draining My Hot Water Tank to Save Money."
Mrs. Money over at the Ultimate Money Blog just posted a "Decluttering Challenge: 365 in 2011." I am definitely in! (Hopefully not over my head...)
If you're in college, or every plan on having kids go to college, I suggest checking out "Money Saving Tips for College Students on a Budget," posted by Canadian Finance Blog. Live like a student now, or live like one later!
Jeff at Sustainable Life Blog shared with us, "1 Store's Effect on my Budget and Food Bill." The store name may be different, but I'm sure this is one post most all of us can probably relate to.
