Sunday Round-up for April 24, 2011
Happy holiday weekend! I’ve enjoyed reading many great posts over the last week. I tried to include most of them here; although, there were quite a few of you who I considered added multiple posts for in this lineup. I can’t wait to find out what you have in store for us next week!
Money Cone had a rather exciting Friday in “So Someone Tried to Use My Credit Card to Buy a Laptop.”
Ravi posted a novel idea a while back: “Do Work at Work.” Sounds feasible.
Jeff at Sustainable Life Blog added a new part to his cheap vacations series; this time he tackled Teddy Roosevelt National Park. As someone who used to raise bison (very, VERY few), I loved the picture of the dog gazing out the window. I know what that feels like! Rather exhilarating, huh, puppy?
First Gen American had a rough week this past week. Our thoughts will be with you, Sandy.
Spruce Up Your Finances shared with us, “7 Mistakes People Make Just to Get a Huge Tax Refund.” All great points! I suggest everyone read this immediately.
Head on over this weekend and check out the remarkable pictures Jane posted at Life Doesn’t Begin at Retirement in “Happy Easter Everybunny!”
Speaking of pictures, definitely check out Retire By 40’s post “South Pacific Tropical Island Paradise on the Cheap—Rarotonga.” Magnificent!
Growing Rich Kids did an excellent write-up on “5 Ways Kids Allowances Can Fail—And How to Avoid Them.” This was a little older post, but I couldn’t help but share it this week, just because it was such a great read.
Another slightly older post is Balance Junkie’s “Why Are Commodity Prices Rising:? Let Me Count the Ways.” I’ve heard people bringing that topic back up in the news, so I figured it might me a nice addition to this week’s round-up.
Frugal in my Forties makes an absolutely terrific point in “Budget is Not a Dirty Word.”
Last, but definitely not last, Wealth Pilgrim offered a great five point article, “Landing a Great Job During a Recession Made Easy.” Absolutely great tips here--I agree with each one wholeheartedly.
