Friday Round-Up: The Best in Personal Finance Blogs
I came across an article today that talked about appreciating what you have, especially when you're feeling down. Just taking the time to write your list can boost your happiness immensely.
I haven't been feeling down, but I thought that listing everything we're thankful for can just be an overall great way to approach life. It helps keep things in perspective and helps us remain happy throughout life. So, I thought, why not?
Here are the five things I am most thankful for:
- Everything about my husband.
- That I’m relatively healthy and have the means to remain so.
- The beautiful alien in my belly.
- That my Great Dane is finally becoming a dog and is no longer eating the woodwork in our house.
- Chocolate, particularly fudgy chocolate brownies with caramel centers.
I am also thankful for extended family, for my warm home, for exiting the first trimester of pregnancy…for so many things. I am especially thankful for food now, since I always seem to be hungry.
How about you: what are you thankful for?
As I was surfing, I found some other great things on the internet, particularly these four finance posts. Check them out!
- In today’s day and age, mortgage insurance could be a saving grace into how you can buy a house on less money down. Read "Buying a Home with the Help of Mortgage Insurance" at Prairie EcoThrifter.
- Are you still using toilet paper? Read how one family saved $240 per year by cutting it out of their budget. Warning: the tactic is not for the faint of heart…or possibly the sane.
- When you’re budgeting in the fun stuff, do you save for a psychic monk? Crystal did so (to have fun with a friend). Read her story here.
- Budgeting may just have become easier with a new app, The Birdy. Follow along with Ashley at Money Talks to find out how.

Thanks for including the post on mortgage insurance in your round up. I really appreiciate it.
